The hydrographic drone is the most commonly used type of small aerial vehicle. They are easily maneuverable, highly maneuverable and require little maintenance. But what can you expect from your hydrographic survey drone?
You should know that the hydrographic survey drone should be able to maneuver its way up to your vessel's maximum depth. Some aerials are capable of making short dives as well, but only a few models will allow for this. In order to accomplish this you will need to purchase a hydrographic survey drone with a hydroplane structure.
Hydroplane structure means a structure that allows the vehicle to be sunk to an acceptable depth, thereby allowing the drone to get down deep enough to collect all of the important data. With the hydrographic survey drone, you can receive data like Gage height, depth of water column, basin depths, and depth of water. All of these types of data are important when you are taking pictures, video or measurements.
Before diving to your vessel's deepest place, take some time to prepare. You should have a heat-resistant cover for the hydrographic survey drone. It should also be covered with waterproof tape so it will not become damaged in the water.
There are many types of hulls that you can purchase hydrographic survey drones in. They range from flat bottom, flat top, and even flat sides. The flat top hull is the least expensive, but it also can be the most difficult to handle.
The way to handle the hydrographic survey drone is to keep its propellers on. Put some warm water into a bathtub and dip the drone in. Make sure that the drone is positioned so the propellers face out. If the propellers are facing in, then they may not be able to get down deep enough.
Once you are sure that the propellers are facing out, then you can open the top cover and place the hydroplane structure down. Do not submerge the drone itself in the water, because the propellers could catch on something, such as fishing line. If it does happen, you may be in for a bad shock.
Next, fill the bathtub with water and put in some hot tea. Leave the bathtub filled with water until you are ready to use the hydrographic survey drone. If you don't do this, then the hydroplane structure could become ruined. Be prepared.
Finally, take off your cover and plug the drone into an outlet so that you can plug in the batteries. The propellers will turn over, and turn. Plug the drone's power supply into an outlet and wait until it starts. Once it starts, turn it on and do a test run before you turn it on. If you find that it turns on with no problem, then you are ready to take it out of the water.
When you are finished doing this, go back into the bathtub and turn the hydroplane structure on. Now, you will have your first taste of water proofing. Turn it off and put it in storage until you are ready to do it again.
Again, take a test run before putting it in the bathtub and if you do not hear any loud noises, then you are ready. Once you have put it in the bathtub, wait until it cools down and check the propellers for damage and looseness.
Once the propellers areloosen and smooth, then you can bring it out of the bathtub and plug it into an outlet. Enjoy the advantages of a hydroplane structure.
